Prepaid Smart Gas Meters

Prepaid CardLess BLE GSM GPRS

System Overview

The Wave Pay As You Go Token less (PAYGTL) System provides Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), together with the potential for the utility to receive payment for the gas before it is used. The PAYGTL meter differs from the standard AMR offering, in that there is a solenoid valve fitted on the meter inlet. The wave module monitors the customers' account checking the gas consumed against the credit available. Should the account become zero then the gas supply will be shut off.

A customer can top up his account at a registered pay facility, by credit card Debit Card/ Online/ at support centre. The display on the module provides the customer with real-time information regarding the credit balance, amount of Emergency credit available, valve status, and an indication of any active alarms. Data is stored on the Cloud server at customer end and can be viewed by the Gas Utility, or the customer using a remote internet connection, or the App on their mobile phone. Alerts will be sent to the customer via SMS and E-mail when his credit is getting low, or if the valve has closed. The system is programmed to be user friendly. The gas supply will not be interrupted during out of office hours, weekends or public holidays.

Wave Meter Module
The PAYGTL Wave Meter Module
  • The wave meter module fits directly onto the meter index. It counts the pulses generated by the index, controls the shut off valve, monitors the energy account, supplies information to the customer, and provides the facility to apply credit to the system. Mounted on the module is a toggle switch which allows you to move through the various display screens, and a valve re-set switch, which must be pressed in order for the valve to re-open.
  • The wave system is a star based wireless solution.
  • Typically a module will transmit and receive data once a day. This can be restricted to office hours and so preventing the gas supply being disconnected when a top is unavailable.
  • The frequency of data transfer can be increased, however this would affect the battery life.
Wave Operating System
The Wave Operating System - on Cloud / Server at customer end
  • The Cloud computing service for The Wave Operating System(OS), utilizes internet technology, allowing users to instantaneously access data via PC Terminal, smart phone, or tab.
  • The Wave OS application software is installed on the server.
  • The energy supplier selects the parameters from the OS that he wishes to use, designing his application around his own requirements. The packages available cover the complete range of functionality from entering a new customer all the way through to producing the bill.
  • Access to the database is controlled via a security user name and password. There are five levels of security available, each has different limits as to what data can be viewed or changed.
